Uraga - Information
Uraga, a district in the Guji Zone of Ethiopia, is one of the country’s most renowned coffee-growing regions. At high altitudes in the Ethiopian highlands, the coffee cherries ripen particularly slowly due to the cool climate, thereby developing exceptional sweetness and a complex aroma. Most of the coffee comes from smallholders who cultivate their plots under natural shade. After harvesting, the cherries are carefully processed and sorted at communal washing stations. Coffees from Uraga delight with intense floral aromas, a lively, crisp acidity and an elegant, tea-like character – typical of the region’s finest coffees.
