Vizcaya – On the origin of coffee

Thanks to Christina and Markos from "Meet Los Amigos," we are delighted to present this directly traded coffee from Guatemala. Markos grew up on a coffee plantation in Guatemala. This has given him excellent local connections and access to several farm owners, including Francisco Quesada, owner of Finca Vizcaya. He and his family have been cultivating coffee on over 150 hectares since 1984. Harvest workers receive regular training to improve the quality of the harvest. Furthermore, the farm has its own processing plant and uses approximately seven times less water compared to other traditional systems. The coffee cherries are fermented for 24 to 36 hours.
